Mr Hughes has been a consultant in Worcestershire for nine years and is a member of both the British Fertility Society and British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy. He is the lead for the local NHS fertility service, gynaecology ultrasound training, as well as joint lead of the Worcestershire endometriosis clinic. In these roles he investigates and carries out treatment for sub-fertility, uterine anomalies, pelvic pain and recurrent miscarriage.
In order to provide a local assisted conception service (such as IVF), Worcestershire Fertility clinic has been established in Southbank, as a satellite of the well-established service provided by Oxford Fertility. As the lead for Worcestershire Fertility Mr Hughes works closely with the team in Oxford to investigate and treat sub-fertility giving you exactly the same treatment and success rates as you would travelling to Oxford. Investigations and treatment will be provided as much as possible in the Worcester clinic, thereby providing a local service for Worcestershire and the surrounding area.
Treatments available via Worcestershire fertility include: Doctor consultation; One stop Fertility assessments for women or men concerned that they may have difficulty conceiving; Ovulation induction cycle and follicle tracking as a treatment for failure to release eggs (such as polycystic ovary syndrome), IUI*, IVF / ICSI*; Donor sperm / egg IVF*.
