Dr Umesh Udeshi qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff in 1979 and trained in Clinical Radiology on the Birmingham based, West Midlands Radiology Training Scheme. Dr Udeshi has been a Consultant Clinical Radiologist since 1988 and now works exclusively in the private sector, having worked in the NHS in Worcestershire for 33 years.
Dr Udeshi's major specialty interests are musculoskeletal and urological radiology. He is also a general radiologist and has participated in Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams for Haematological and Urological Cancers in the past.
Dr Udeshi offers a unique One Stop Musculoskeletal MRI Service (for the joints and spine). After initially discussing your symptoms with you, an MRI scan will be tailored to your needs and after the scan an immediate report and feedback will be given to you by Dr Udeshi. Please request this service specifically if required.
He is also one of few radiologists who offers MR/fusion guided targeted prostate biopsy.
Dr Udeshi carries out regular audit of his practice and participates fully in continuing professional development. He satisfies the Royal College of Radiologists CPD scheme and undergoes annual appraisal. As part of this, he collects regular feedback from samples of his patients and colleagues and this has been excellent. He has been satisfactorily revalidated by the General Medical Council. He lectures to many professional groups on MRI and general radiological topics and publishes clinical papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr Udeshi is a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Birmingham and a Visiting Lecturer for Birmingham City University.
He has been a member of the Royal College of Radiologists service review committee; a technical assessor for the Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme; professional reviewer for the Quality Review Service and West Midlands Quality Review Service as well as Cancer Peer Review Teams. Dr Udeshi is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the European Society of Radiology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.
