A practising Chartered Clinical Psychologist since completing her clinical psychology doctoral training in 2005, Dr Ayres has worked within the NHS and private practice providing psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to adults with a broad range of mental health problems. Dr Ayres also has expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and the co-morbidity of psychological problems in other physical health conditions.
She has provided therapy to adolescents, adults, and older adults who have experienced depression and anxiety difficulties such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), phobias, health anxiety, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss. Dr Ayres practices a range of different therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Short term psychodynamic psychotherapy.
