Professional profile

Dr David Smith graduated from St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London in 1997 and completed his specialist training at the Bristol Heart Institute in 2011. His current NHS post is at Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he treats a broad range of cardiovascular patients with chest pains, shortness of breath, palpitations and collapse.

As an interventional cardiologist, Dr Smith is also one of the consultants providing the 24/7 emergency heart attack service for the 3 Counties. He maintains an interest in research and has published and presented projects nationally and internationally, most recently on CT coronary angiography which he performs on the South Bank's new state of the art CT scanner
