Professional profile

I qualified in Medicine in Italy in 2000. I went on to specialise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry which I completed in 2005. I did a year of Research Fellowship in the psychological effects of trauma at the Trauma Centre, part of Boston University, together with the team of Prof. Bessel van der Kolk and then took a permanent NHS Consultant post in South Essex where I have been working since early 2006. All together I have more than 15 years work experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, winning 4 points of NHS Clinical Excellence Awards throughout her career as an NHS Consultant. I speak fluent English and Italian and can offer my services in both languages.

My mission is to provide personalised, confidential and high-quality care on an as-needed or preventative basis. I am passionate about my work and enjoy working with children, adolescents and young people from the age of 5 to the age of 18 years, presenting with all kinds of psychiatric illness, including depression, anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, autistic spectrum disorder. I provide full assessment, which includes the use of specialist tools and questionnaires, cognitive and behavioral strategies, psychiatric reviews, consultations, psychotropic medications. I closely work with psychologists and psychotherapists as necessary, to provide a comprehensive service to my private patients.

In addition to my clinical work between December 2008 and October 2015 I have been the Clinical Director for the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services across South Essex, Luton and Bedfordshire alongside practicing as a CAMHS Consultant in Basildon, Essex. I have extensive experience of Clinical Governance, supervision and line management of up to 18 Consultant CAMHS Colleagues, recruitment of medical and clinical personnel in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
