Daring Nurse Raises Funds for Wessex Cancer Trust

19 April 2016

Corinne Rowbotham, Lead Oncology Nurse at Spire Portsmouth Hospital, was pleased to present Wessex Cancer Trust with the money she raised from her abseil down the Spinnaker Tower. As of yesterday she had raised over £2,250 for the cause!

"The reason I did this abseil was to raise money for a great cause, but also to raise awareness of the support the Wessex Cancer Trust give to patients and their family," Corinne says.

This also marks the beginning of a partnership with Wessex Cancer Trust, who will send a therapist to Spire Portsmouth Hospital one day a week to provide support for patients undergoing cancer treatment and their family members.

"This will mean our patients don't have to go somewhere else to seek support," Corinne says. "I look forward to working together in the future."
