Consultations

We see children from 0 - 18 years in our Outpatient Department for consultations. Consultations are with a consultant of your choice, and are usually within 24 hours, subject to the consultant’s availability.

Your child can be seen by a paediatric specialist consultant within the chosen area of specialty - whether it be Ear, nose and throat (ENT), general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, oral surgery, urology or ophthalmology. Each of our specialists has comprehensive experience treating children within the NHS.

Physiotherapy and Radiology

We see and treat all age groups in our Physiotherapy and Radiology departments. Access is fast and if any invasive radiology or physiotherapy is required, this is only done with support from our paediatric nurses.

We also offer a specialist paediatric physiotherapy service to treat conditions such as developmental problems, cerebral palsy, children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and sports injuries.

Surgery

We can admit children aged 3 - 18 years for surgery, as a day case patient.

We know that when children need to come in to hospital, it can be an anxious time for the whole family – that’s why we offer you and your child an opportunity to visit the hospital prior to admission, become familiar with the surroundings and meet the experts who will be involved in their care.

If surgery is needed a specialist paediatric nurse will be assigned to your child for the duration of their stay to ensure that all their needs are met.

Safeguarding children and adults

Safeguarding continues to be a high priority and Spire Healthcare is committed to safeguarding adults, children, young people and looked after children. All healthcare staff have a duty to recognise and respond to safeguarding children or adults issues. Safeguarding is a range of activities from promoting health and wellbeing to protection from harm.
