Professional profile

After my specialisation in General Surgery, I was trained in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery in the Surgical Department (Centre of Excellence for bariatric surgery) of the Krankenhaus Sachsenhausen, Frankfurst, Germany.

I further developed my skills regarding laparoscopic hiatal surgery and bariatric surgery as Senior Clinical Fellow in the Upper GI Unit at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham.

From August 2013 until November 2015, I worked as a locum consultant in the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, with my main interest being laparoscopic benign upper GI and bariatric surgery. I have been a general and upper GI consultant since November 2015.

My main interest includes laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hiatal (anti-reflux) surgery, laparoscopic groin hernia repair and bariatric surgery.

To date I have performed over 800 cholecystectomies on elective and acute setting. I have performed more than 100 laparoscopic groin and incisional hernia repairs and carried out over 100 bariatric operations.
