Mr Christopher Mann
Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon | Endometriosis expert
MBChB, BSc (Hons), MRCOG, MD
I am a consultant gynaecological oncologist and laparoscopic surgeon. I graduated from medical school in 1988 and have worked in the field of gynaecology since 1989 with 29 years experience.
I have specialist expertise in gynaecological oncology, the management of advanced endometriosis, and the application of minimal access surgery (laparoscopic/keyhole surgery) to all aspects of gynaecological care. I received advanced training in these clinical fields at a postgraduate level from world leading experts in the USA, France and Germany, as well as from national experts in the UK. I undertook research at the University of Birmingham Institute of Cancer Studies, to obtain my Doctorate in Medicine.
I specialise in the management of advanced endometriosis. I am a founding member of the Midlands Endometriosis Clinic (MAC), held at Spire Parkway, which has been awarded the BSGE Accreditation for Management of Advanced Endometriosis.
Since 1998 I have had a particular interest in the application of laparoscopic surgery to gynaecological conditions whenever clinically beneficial to the patient.
I have been an RCOG accredited gynaecological oncologist since 2003, and have worked in full time clinical practice in this field, both in the Private sector and the NHS. I was on the original BSGE committee that developed the accredited centres for the management of advanced endometriosis and have recently founded the Midlands Endometriosis Clinic.
I performed the first day-case laparoscopic hysterectomies in the Midlands eight years ago and am committed to minimising recovery time and the cosmetic impact of gynaecological surgery whenever this is clinically appropriate, for both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions.

I spend the majority of my spare time looking after my two teenage sons who both have a major interest in a number of different sports as well as music - both listening and playing. I also have a keen interest in playing classical guitar, cooking and cycling, having recently taken part in the gruelling Cingle du Ventoux in the French Alps (much to the amusement of my two boys).
