Professional profile

I was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in January 2004. I completed my training at Edinburgh, Oxford and the USA and am trained to deal with spinal conditions, including complex spinal problems and pain relief. I have undertaken extensive research and apply a new technique to treat cervical disc problems instead of the traditional method of harvesting graft from the hip bone, which can sometimes be painful. I am the lead for skull base and endoscopic pituitary surgery, in my NHS practice. My team has performed surgery for brain tumours through the nose and also have carried out pituitary surgery in a minimally invasive way. My team comprises of a Neurosurgeon, an ENT Surgeon, an Endocrinologist and a Neuroophthalmologist. We provide a service for the south of Birmingham and Warwickshire area, we also run international courses on Pituitary Surgery.

I treat a number of conditions including complex spinal problems, pain relief issues and brain tumours.
