Spire Nottingham backs County Sports Awards

16 February 2017

Sporting Primary School of the Year and Junior Disabled Sportsperson of the Year were both sponsored by the Spire Nottingham Hospital presently being built in Tollerton.

The awards, run by Nottingham County Council, recognise the best sport throughout the county, from elite athletes to local clubs and community volunteers.

Gold medal-winning Paralympic athlete Sophie Hahn and Spire Nottingham Hospital Physiotherapy Manager Carl Butler presented youngsters from Radcliffe on Trent Junior School with their award while London 2012 Olympics canoe champion Etienne Stott and Spire Nottingham Hospital Marketing Manager Helen Jamieson presented Benjamin Foulston with his trophy.

The evening was hosted by Notts TV presenters Iain Chambers and Kate Chaplin.

Spire Nottingham Hospital Director Will Pressley said: “We are very keen to support community projects like this and hope to get involved in many years to come as our new hospital establishes itself in the region.”
