Professional profile

I have been working as a substantive Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with the Trust since July 2004. My practice mainly includes Adult Foot and Ankle Surgery, some lower limb arthroplasty work along with Trauma surgery. I have established the adult Foot and Ankle service at Kings Mill Hospital. I am supported by two Nurse Specialists.

Over the years I have introduced new techniques of foot and ankle surgery in Kings Mill to improve the quality of care for our patients - examples include advanced arthroscopic procedures and minimally invasive surgery. My Foot and Ankle work has been published and presented nationally and internationally over the last number of years.

I am actively involved in teaching and training. I am an ATLS instructor and have been since 2004 and more recently I have directed these courses as an MD. I am a recognised trainer for SpRs (since 2004) Foundation year doctors and ST/CT grade doctors as well as an AO instructor. I have been an Examiner for Nottingham University under Graduate exams for the last many years. I am an approved appraiser for the Trust for the last number of years.
