Professional profile

Having trained in Nottingham, Bristol and Oxford in Neurosurgery, I treat a wide range of conditions of the brain and spine.

My practice is general and includes degenerative lumbar and cervical spinal disease (including cervical arthroplasty), and tumours of the brain / spinal cord, for which I run a research group at the University of Nottingham.

My work in this area lead to the award of a Hunterian professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons.

I have published and lectured widely on Neurosurgical topics and have introduced novel operative techniques such as fluorescence guided surgery to the East Midlands.

Research interests: I run a translational research group at the University of Nottingham, investigating malignant brain tumours including control of blood vessel development and drug delivery into the brain.
