Professional profile

I have been a Consultant Cardiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust since 1999. This is a busy University Teaching Hospital serving a population of over 675,000.

I am fully trained in non-interventional cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterisation (femoral and radial route), permanent pacemaker implantation (dual and single chamber) and device implantation (ICD and biventricular devices), Hickman line insertion and myocardial biopsy.

I have particular expertise in echocardiography including contrast, stress and trans-oesophageal echo. I am responsible for the open access echo service and I also undertake screening echo studies for the Football Association, British Canoeing Association and elite athletes.
