I am a Radiologist with 25 years experience and currently holding a substantive post of Consultant at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust with full GMS registration on Specialist Registration and fully licensed to practice. After serving as a Doctor in the Indian Army for five years I got my MD in 1991 in Delhi. In pursuit of further studies I worked in the Republic of Ireland to gain experience and finally moved to England in 1999 and completed my specialist UK training in 2003 from Leicester Training Programme.
Since joining Leicester Hospitals as a Consultant, the main areas of my interest are CT and MRI of the Brain and Spine, Ultrasound scans of the Neck, Joints and lumps and bumps. I report 2,500 to 3,000 scans every year at the NHS. I also have an interest in Teleradiology reporting emergency scans from A&E and inpatient setting and non urgent imaging from many Trusts within the UK. I provide imaging services to GP patients besides referrals from hospital specialists, Physiotherapy and Podiatry services.
Outside the clinical services I have a keen interest in education and teaching and have held the posts of College Tutor for many years until 2016. I am also an Educational Supervisor in the Leicester Radiology Training and have been appointed member of the Examination Board of the Royal College of Radiologists for the final examination. I have created and run an Ultrasound Training Course for new trainees every year.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Nottingham Hospital.
I am happily married and live locally with my wife and daughter. Trying to learn golf has been on the agenda for sometime, I hope to perfect my swing in the near future.
