I am a high volume cataract surgeon performing over 700 cataract operations per year at Spire Norwich Hospital, Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and Cromer Hospital. Pre-existing refractive errors (long sightedness, short sightedness and astigmatism) can be corrected at the time of cataract surgery and reduce the need for glasses following the operation. I offer vitreo-retinal surgery on a private basis, which includes treatment for macula pathology, retinal detachment and bleeding within the eye. I use 23 gauge instrumentation which means that no suturing is required. The surgery is carried out under local anaesthesia as a day case.
Research interests: Anaesthesia for cataract surgery and reduction of complications in cataract surgery Narrow instrument sutureless vitrectomy.
