My areas of expertise are general cardiology, valvular heart disease (murmurs and conditions such as aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation), angina, rhythm disturbances (atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ectopics), heart failure and hypertension. I can arrange investigations using ECG (electrocardiogram), echocardiography, coronary angiography, CT coronary angiogram, cardiac MRI, ambulatory ECG or BP monitoring.

I have published many papers and chapters in textbooks on the subject of emotion stress and the heart. I have also published a self-help book on heart disease called "Your Heart and You", (Elizabeth Wilde McCormick and Dr Leisa Freeman).

I trained in medicine at the University of Birmingham Medical School and did my postgraduate training in London at University College Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and the National Heart Hospital before moving to Norwich in 1991. I was Clinical Director of Cardiology in 2005-2011, Associate Medical Director 2011-2015, Lead for Grown-up Congenital Heart Disease and Maternal Cardiology 1993-2020. Honorary Consultant Cardiologists at the NNUH from November 2021. My revalidation date is January 2023.
