Specialises in
For the past 30 years I have worked as a Musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the NHS and the Private Sector. Early in my career I spent two years working at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland. Over twelve months I completed an MACP course which gave me manipulative and mobilisation skills. More recently I worked for seven years part-time at the Back Pain Unit at Clatterbridge, where we used the biopsychosocial approach to help patients with chronic pain to better manage their conditions. Amongst the modules in my MSc at Keele was Kinetic Control, which improved my understanding of movement control and functional movement assessment. Having better assessment skills improves clinical diagnosis and therefore helps retrain movement impairments.
Back pain is my particular interest.
