I am a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. After completing my Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in the Mersey region and obtaining my MD (Doctor of Medicine) thesis at the University of Liverpool, I spent two years as a Gynaecologic Laparoscopic Fellow in Sydney, Australia.
I specialise in dealing with conditions causing pelvic pain, heavy periods and infertility such as endometriosis, adhesions and fibroids. I also treat vaginal prolapse using keyhole techniques to place permanent mesh within the abdomen.
I perform laparoscopic excision of endometriosis, laparoscopic hysterectomy and surgery for conditions affecting the fallopian tubes and ovaries. In particular I deal with more severe rectovaginal endometriosis in collaboration with a colo-rectal surgeon.
I manage couples with infertility having completed two years as a fellow in the reproductive medicine unit at Liverpool Women's Hospital.
At Alder Hey Children's hospital I perform laparoscopic operations for pelvic pain, ovarian cysts and congenital malformations of the uterus and vagina.
I am involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors and paramedical staff in gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery and obstetric emergencies.

Personal profile
Most of my spare time is spent with my wife and two sons aged seven and five. I am a keen cyclist, whether on or off-road, and love to tinker with my collection of bikes when the weather stops me riding them!
