Spire Manchester to be featured on Embarrassing Bodies

This week, Channel 4 TV programme 'Embarrassing Bodies' is meeting a family who carry the BRCA gene.

The programme will follow a Spire Manchester patient through her journey of genetic testing to see if she carries the BRCA gene. The BRCA 1 & 2 genetic testing is for patients who have a strong family history of breast cancer, if the BRCA 1 & 2 genes are present, it indicates a significant risk increase for breast cancer for that patient.

This programme features consultant breast surgeonĀ Mr Lester Barr, who practices at Spire Manchester Hospital.

The programme airs on Channel 4 at 9:00pm on Thursday 14 August 2014.
