I'm a Consultant General and Gastrointestinal Surgeon. I commenced my postgraduate surgical training in the UK in 1991. I completed my specialist surgical training in the Manchester region and was appointed as a Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in 2002 where I was the Lead Upper GI Surgeon for the Trust for seven years.

I have carried out over 5,000 general and gastrointestinal procedures as a specialist Consultant surgeon. I keep up to date with the latest developments in my specialist area and I'm still actively involved in teaching and training of junior surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
I'm actively involved in clinical research and educational events for other healthcare professionals and the general public. I've presented at national and international meetings and published many articles in peer review journals. I'm also Co-Director of Manchester Hernia Clinic.

Spire Manchester Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
Away from work I'm married with two teenage boys, who keep me busy and grounded. I support numerous local charity events as well as Water Aid, which provides clean and safe drinking water to people in the developing world. In my spare time I enjoy following Manchester United and a game of golf with friends, even though I tend to approach the holes via the scenic route!
