I am a full time Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine. I am an experienced Medical Doctor, formerly a General Practitioner, becoming full time in sports medicine in 2009. I perform musculoskeletal ultrasound scans, and subsequent guided injections of steroid, hyaluronic acid and PRP as required. I use shockwave therapy to treat a variety of conditions including plantar fascitis and tendinopathies.
I was the England Rugby Senior Team Doctor from 2018-2019, having worked across the age groups and Saxons since 2002.I started as a Team Doctor with the Cycling Team Ineos in November 2019.
I have previously worked in a number of sports including football (Bolton Wanders and Manchester United Academy, England U19s), cycling (team doctor at Teamsky for 5 years until 2015), hockey (England Men's and Women's teams) and para-swimming (Chief Medical Officer at GB Para-swimming). I have worked at the English Institute of Sport in Manchester and between 2013-2018 was a Sports Physician at Pure Sports Medicine in London.
I am an Instructor on the pre-hospital immediate care in sport course and a member of the Twickenham pitch-side medical team.
I am happy to see patients with upper limb, lower limb and spinal complaints.
Spire Manchester Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
