Sean takes the plunge for Alder Hey Children's Charity

30 July 2015

One of our admin team at Spire Liverpool Hospital recently raised £470 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity by jumping from a plane at 11,000ft.

Sean Kearny, a member of the NHS Care Team decided he wanted to go that one step further to raise money for the fantastic local charity that funds life-saving medical equipment, research and vital facilities for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, making a crucial difference to young patients and families, not just from Liverpool but through the UK and Europe.

Sean jumped at Lancaster Black Parachute Regiment with best friend Terry Ferrigan who also raised £420 for Alder Hey, bringing their total to £890.

Sean said, "The parachute jump was amazing, I definitely want to do it again. I didn’t really feel nervous until I actually got in the plane but once you’re out of the plane, it is true what they say the free fall is one of the best feelings - and the fact that you’re doing it to raise money for charity just makes it feel that much better."
