In September 2014, Spire Liverpool Hospital was delighted to announce the opening of the Spire One Penny Lane Clinic. Just like the main hospital, which recently celebrated 70 years on the site in Greenbank Road, Spire One Penny Lane Clinic attracts some of the leading consultants and doctors from the north west.
Dr Arun Ghosh runs his private practice from Spire One Penny Lane Clinic.
“Being born and bred in Liverpool gives me great loyalty to the community,” Dr Ghosh told us. “Building our private practice here at Spire Liverpool Hospital is the perfect partnership to offer family medicine in a well-established hospital, located right in the heart of the city I love.”
Spire Liverpool Hospital offers excellent clinical environments, with 38 beds, an on-site MRI scanner, three theatres and two satellite clinics. One of these is the brand new One Penny Lane Clinic, which has state-of-the art treatment and consulting rooms to deliver high quality patient care.
Dr Ghosh added: “Every aspect and detail of this exclusively private clinic has been considered to give patients a bespoke private experience. In addition, we have access to on-site facilities for patients, including investigative scans and testing, and also to a vast resource of specialist consultants. At Spire Liverpool Hospital, there are more than 140 consultants from 30 specialities.
“As a traditional family practice, consultations are available for individuals, couples or a family group, including children aged three years and over,” he said. “Our consultations are delivered in a friendly and personal manner, where we spend quality time with patients, who are able to discuss whatever health concerns they wish.”
Offering a full range of private general practice services, appointments can range from a general check-up, acute illness, second opinion or rapid diagnosis, to our private patient registration. A standard 30-minute appointment costs from £140.
Being linked to the hospital means that Dr Ghosh and his team can also offer a wide range of private health care services on-site, including blood testing, health screening, antenatal care, private prescriptions, vaccinations and consultant referrals.
“Our service complements many GPs, and we can work together sharing information to support rapid diagnosis or aid recovery,” said Dr Ghosh. “Our service is fast and convenient for people who may not be available during normal practice opening times to see their own GP. Appointments are available as one-off bookings but we regularly see patients who need multiple appointments with a private GP."
