MBBS (Hons), MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology), FRCP

Specialises in

  • Arrhythmia management
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertension
  • Atrial fibrillation

I have a special interest in heart failure, heart valve disorders, hypertension and atrial fibrillation. I have vast experience with cardiac risk assessment prior to non-cardiac surgery. I have championed primary prevention advice and regularly runs ‘heart wise’ clinics. At Spire Liverpool Hospital, I am available for virtual and face to face consultations.

I have a close working relationship with some of the best cardiac interventionists and surgeons in the country based in Liverpool and Manchester. In complex cases, early discussion with the Multidisciplinary team can create opportunities for treatments that can be live saving, or bring great symptomatic benefit where initial assessment and tests identify such cases.

I obtained my MBBS (honors) degree from Meerut University in India. Thereafter I completed my postgraduate education with successful completion of MD (Medicine) to practice as a physician and thereafter DM (Cardiology) to practice as a Consultant Cardiologist. I have also been awarded FRCP by Royal College of Physicians, London.

I came to United Kingdom in 1996 and gained further extensive experience in cardiac imaging – echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, CT coronary angiography, invasive coronary angiography, pacemaker, angioplasties and complex bi-ventricular pacemakers. I have worked as a Consultant Cardiologist since 2005 and has a wide experience of general cardiological conditions such as angina, hypertension, heart failure, palpitations and syncope (fainting).

I am a Senior NHS Consultant Cardiologist and Postgraduate Clinical Tutor at Whiston Hospital, St Helens & Knowsley Teaching NHS Trust and I am the clinical lead for various sub-specialties such as Community Heart Failure services, Nuclear Cardiology and Coronary CT Angiography.

I am an honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds. I am the Chairperson of British International Doctors Association, Southport & Ormskirk branch and Co-Chair for Northwest British Medical Association’s Ethnic Diversity Forum. I am a Case Reviewer for NCEPOD. I am CESR Champion, Health Education England North West.
