I have been qualified for 20 years and practice pain medicine for over 7 years. I was trained as an anaesthetist and underwent specific specialist advanced pain training and achieved the defined competencies in all aspects of pain medicine, and obtained the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA). I comply with the professional standards set by the GMC. I continue to maintain knowledge base through CPD activities, and have appraisals annually. I have specialist expertise in pain of spinal origin, facial pain and pelvic pain.
I am able to provide interventional pain procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. These procedures are used to modulate anatomical structures that are essential in either the generation or the transmission of pain signals. I am an expert in interventional pain management techniques and can perform multitude of spinal injections, nerve injections and very advanced spinal neuromodulation procedures. I provide these interventions as per recommendations and standards for different interventions set out by the Faculty of Pain Medicine and the British Pain Society. I provide these procedures following a comprehensive multidimensional assessment and as part of a comprehensive management plan.
My specialties include: pain from the spine (neck, upper and lower back), pain from prolapsed disc in the spine, pain in the face or trigeminal nerve origin, pain of the pelvis and or pudendal nerve origin.
I am co-organiser and faculty for multiple courses organised by pain relief foundation with The Walton Centre (annual Liverpool course on clinical management of chronic pain- a practical approach, European Pain Federation’s EFIC Winter cancer pain school in Liverpool 2014 and 2016). I chair sessions and deliver talks and demonstrate pain interventional procedures. I have received consistently good feedback for my contributions.
I am the member of Education Subcommittee of the Pain Relief Foundation overlooking multiple teaching activities and organising courses.
I have solely written the Facial E Pain module for the Department of Health. (e-LfH is a Health Education England programme in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies providing high quality content free of charge for the training of the NHS workforce across the UK).
In January 2016, I was invited to the Premier Institute of India for an international pain conference and I did a presentation at AIIMS Pain Practice and Regional Anesthesia Conference, plenary lecture 'Role of NeuroModulation in CRPS'.
