Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

We treat more than just sports injuries at Perform

Our team of physiotherapists are qualified to deal with all types of musculoskeletal conditions – a broad range of health conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles and nerves.  In 2018 it was estimated that these problems affected 17.8 million people in the UK (28.9% of the total population).

Physiotherapy can be an effective way of resolving or managing a musculoskeletal injury, combining advice, exercise therapy, manual therapy and the use of specialist rehabilitation equipment where appropriate.

Examples of conditions we treat at Perform include:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Osteoarthritis affecting any joints
  • Muscle strains or tears
  • Ligament sprains
  • Tendinopathies (including those affecting the Achilles tendon, patellar tendon, golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow)
  • Shoulder conditions including frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, impingement and instability

Our team are constantly updating our management of musculoskeletal conditions based on the latest available research evidence, to provide you with the best possible treatment and outcome.

Perform Birmingham

Perform Birmingham is an advanced performance, sports medicine and rehabilitation centre. Our highly-skilled, multi-disciplinary team use advanced diagnostic skills and leading technologies to support people who need rehabilitation from surgery or injury, those who want to improve their overall health and fitness and sports people who want to maximise their performance.

Why choose Spire Little Aston Hospital for your physiotherapy?

Our carefully selected multi-disciplinary team includes specialist chartered physiotherapists, podiatrists, nutritional therapists and sports massage therapists who work alongside consultant sports medicine physicians and orthopaedic surgeons.

During the first appointment, your physiotherapist will undertake a comprehensive assessment that will take into consideration your physical presentation as well as your lifestyle. Once a diagnosis has been made a treatment plan can be tailored to your specific needs.
