Professional profile

I have been a consultant obstetrician and Gynaecologist with special interest in urogynaecology for 10 years. I am also the clinical lead for urogynaecology for the hospital since my appointment 10 years ago which has giving me extensive experience in both medical and surgical management of gynaecological problems. I offer a full range of Gynaecological and Urogynaecological services and my main interests are in minimally invasive surgery for urinary incontinence and pelvic reconstruction. I also offer expert advice and treatment for prolapse, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and infertility problems. I am the lead Urogynaecologist at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.

I specialise in general gynaecology with special interest in urogynaecology, prolapse operations, menstrual disorders, minimal access surgery, infertility and assisted conception.

To date I have performed over 700 vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, over 500 vaginal repair procedures, 600 incontinence surgeries for both stress incontinence and over active bladder, 1000 hysteroscopies, 600 laparoscopic sterilisation.

I am currently the clinical risk lead for maternity and perinatal medicine for Birmingham City hospital and I chair the monthly perinatal risk management meeting.

I am the clinical lead for urogynaecology at Birmingham City hospital and I am also a honorary lecture at the University of Birmingham.
