Miss Suman Jangra
Specialist Oncology Dietitian
BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Dietetics
I qualified as a registered dietitian in June 2006 and have specialised within oncology since 2010, nutritionally managing patient diagnosed and undergoing related treatments. I have worked in a variety of acute NHS hospital settings, developing a strong knowledge base of the implications of surgical, radiological and chemotherapy impacts on the nutritional management in cancer care surrounding oral and enteral feeding routes. A vast experience with working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, in both the in-patient and out-patient settings, ensuring a holistic, patient needs centred management approach.
My experience spans across most cancer sites, including breast, lung, Upper GI (oesophageal, gastric), Lower GI (bowel), gynaecological, uro-genital, head and neck, hepato-biliary (pancreatic, gallbladder) and haematological (leukemia, lymphoma). From curative intent and survivorship to palliative care and issues surrounding quality of life and well being.
I offer support for junior staff and student training co-ordinator.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Suman Jangra at Spire include:
Nutritional support and therapeutic diet management of patients with and undergoing oncology/haematology treatments
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Little Aston Hospital.
My spare time is spent making memories with family and friends. I like to keep fit when I can, jogging, badminton or gym. I have run four half marathons over the last few years raising money for charities close to my heart.
I am a qualified make-up artist and henna artist.
Having recently bought a house in need of alot of repair and care, I have learnt on my heels the art of managing various tradesmen and building my own DIY toolkit, portfolio and skills.
