Professional profile

I am a Consultant Respiratory and General Medicine Physician at Spire Little Aston Hospital.

I have also been employed as a Consultant Respiratory and General Medicine Physician at Good Hope Hospital since November 2003. I am trained in the management of a wide range of respiratory conditions including: Bronchial asthma; COPD; respiratory infections including Tuberculosis (TB), Pneumonia, and Bronchiectasis; Pleural diseases; Interstitial lung diseases; Lung cancer; management of patients with sleep related disorders.

I am experienced in bronchoscopy including performing Broncho-alveolar lavage (BAL) and transbronchial biopsies. I initiated and played a major role in developing Endobronchial Ulrasound (EBUS) guided Tansbronchal needle aspiration (TBNA) service within the trust. EBUS-TBNA is a safe and more technologically advanced technique for diagnosing and staging of lung cancer, and evaluation of mediastinal or hilar lesions. I run a rapid access clinic for patients with suspected TB.

Most of the patients attending her outpatient clinics have chronic airways diseases including Interstitial lung disease, Asthma, COPD, and Bronchiectasis. I am interested particularly in COPD complicated by Respiratory Failure. I played a major role in developing a ward based Non-invasive Ventilation (NIV) service at Good Hope Hospital. I also experienced in chest ultrasound and respiratory physiology. As a College tutor I am greatly involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching.
