I took up the post as a consultant orthopedics and trauma surgeon with special interest in foot and ankle at Leeds General Infirmary in January 2011. I am an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Leeds.

I gained advanced fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery – New York – USA, as a clinical fellow with eminent specialists in the field of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery with exposure to paediatric foot problems and complex foot and ankle trauma. I spent an additional year in the same institution as fellow the limb lengthening and reconstruction service with significant exposure to complex foot and ankle reconstruction using Ilizarov techniques. My training covered adult reconstructive surgery, paediatric limb deformities, foot and ankle surgery with substantial exposure to ankle fusions and Charcot arthropathies.

I am fluent in both English and Arabic.
