I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrist and work as a consultant general adult psychiatrist. Occupational psychiatric disorder is my new interest and I deal with matters of psychiatric problems related to disciplinary matters, professional misconduct, discrimination, bullying, harassment and psychiatric fitness for employment.
I am also a fellow of the faculty of forensic psychiatry of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. In my medico-legal work, I receive instructions from solicitors, the General Dental Council, the General Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, criminal injuries compensation board and various employers.
I write independent evidence based expert psychiatric reports for the benefit of the courts. I participate in conferences with barristers, the Queen's Council and engage in conferences with other psychiatrists. I keep myself fully informed of the developments in these matters through my continuing professional development programmes. I am interested in medical negligence claims and personal injuries cases.
