Professional profile

I qualified in 1986 from Dow Medical College Karachi. My interest in neurology began in 1990 and I became a Consultant in Neurology in 1996. My training has involved posts at St James Hospital Leeds and Imperial College of Medicine London. My special interest is in migraine where my research and clinical interest lies. I have experience in the use of botulinium toxin in the various neurological disorders. I have pioneered treatment of headache disorders and Botox, particularly chronic migrane. I have trained more than 50 consultants in the country on this technique and have injected more than 300 patients for this condition. I was in the NICE committee of development of guidelines in the use of Botox for migraine.
