“I had researched Mr Ahmad Ali and knew I was in the hands of a capable surgeon, so that side of things I knew would be fine. My actual stay in hospital was something I didn't give much thought to, I just saw it as part of the procedure. What I could never have been prepared for was just what a difference this side of things would make. The nursing and catering staff, must be acknowledged by me as they were simply incredible. They were beyond attentive but not in an overbearing way. I'm a chatty person and preferred to leave my door open and call out “good morning” or “afternoon” to anyone that walked past. They picked up on this and would stop for a quick chat, always checking if I wanted anything and how my pain level was. This was both during the day and night, as I was often awake through the night and staff made a point of looking in on me. I had no idea this level of polite, courteous healthcare existed. These staff are a true credit to your organisation.”

“I am so delighted with the result of my cataract operation with multifocal lenses. After 79 years of wearing glasses I do not need them. I can even read without glasses and the whole world has changed to brighter colours. Mr Chawla, his anaesthetist and his wonderful nurse, Jenny Jones made me feel quite relaxed and happy about the whole procedure. “I recently had a full knee replacement at Spire Hartswood Hospital with the procedure being carried out by Mr Ahmad Ali. I'd done my research and knew I was in good hands. Mr Ali explained everything to me; what would be done, what I could expect after the op etc. The day of the operation arrived and I checked in. I say checked in because my room was lovely and clean and well fitted out like a decent hotel room! The operation apparently went well and I was visited that evening by both the anaesthetist and Mr Ali to check on me. For the next two days I was looked after by the ward staff who were beyond attentive whilst remaining jovial and nothing was too much trouble and the pain management superb. The aftercare was so good I joked with them that I wouldn't go home! A further mention must be made for the catering. The food was superb and delivered by friendly staff. I now attend weekly physio classes with Dave or Jo and once again this has been an upbeat affair and all my questions answered and exercises explained. For me the whole experience has been a very positive and professional one and I have no hesitation in recommending Spire Hartswood to anyone. Thank you to all the team.”
