It’s Tinnitus Awareness Week from 6–12 February and tinnitus expert Mrs Fiona Bateson wants to shout from the rooftops
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Fran Goldin at Spire include:
Non-surgical squint treatment, patching for lazy eye, treatments for convergence and double vision
I qualified as an orthoptist in 1974 at the Birmingham & Midland Eye Hospital. I worked as a single handed orthoptist at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow for twenty years. I then transferred to Central Middlesex Hospital where I am still working today. I run a clinic on the first Thursday in every month at Spire Harpenden Hospital. My referrals come from several consultants working in and out of the Hospital. I see adults and children who require treatment for squint, amblyopia (lazy eye), muscle palsies and convergence weakness.
I have a full set of fresnel stick on prisms which enables me to relieve a patient with diplopia (double vision) immediately.

My main hobby outside orthoptics is playing tennis; I am a captain of the Pinner Four tennis team. I live in Stanmore and have a busy private practice at home. I am also very involved with fund raising for Chai Cancer Care, a charity which raises money for people with cancer.Back to top
