Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. I was appointed as a consultant in 2006 at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, my specialisms are all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. Special interests include radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy and minimally invasive foot surgery for great toe osteoarthritis, bunions and flat foot.
My research interests are primarily Achilles tendon disorders, plantar fasciitis, minimally invasive foot surgery and trauma management. Research collaborations include the assessment of the effectiveness of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) for soft tissue injuries, and the study of non-operative rehabilitation for Achilles tendon rupture. I believe in tailoring non-operative and operative treatment options to the individual.
I undertook my undergraduate medical training at St George’s Hospital, University of London, qualifying in 1994. After holding posts at University College Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, I completed higher orthopaedic training on the South East Thames orthopaedic surgical rotation between 2000 and 2006, working at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospitals. I completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine with foot and ankle surgery at the Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre, Australia in 2005, and visitations to the Schulthess Klinik, Zurich, Switzerland, 2011 and the Centre for Chirurgie Orthopedique et Sportive, Bordeaux, Merignac, France, 2014.
