Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Malcolm Charles Aldridge at Spire include:
I am a general surgeon with special interests in pancreatobiliary, hernia surgery and endoscopy. I qualified from St Mary's Hospital and undertook surgical training in several London Teaching Hospitals including St Mary's, the Hammersmith Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. I then underwent specialist training in liver, pancreatic and biliary surgery in Paris. I am a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and have a Master of Surgery higher degree from London University.
I undertake a full range of hernia surgeries at Spire Harpenden Hospital (inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, abdominal/ventral hernia and incisional hernia). Specifically for umbilical hernia, abdominal/ventral and incisional hernia laproscopic (keyhole) repair is also offered. I am a member of the British Hernia Society.
I have a particular interest in endoscopy - colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and gastroscopy. I perform over 200 colonoscopies per year and offer training in colonoscopy at the Eastern Regional Endoscopy Centre. I undertake colonoscopy on a regular basis at Spire Harpenden Hospital.
