Specialises in

I am a highly trained Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon. With regards to general surgical experience, I perform as a routine eg laparoscopic cholecystectomies for gallstones, open and laparoscopic hernia repairs, treatment of haemorrhoids (including radiofrequency ablation (Rafaelo) and pilonidal sinus surgery as part of my general surgical commitment.

I have performed more than 400 open and more than 300 laparoscopic colorectal operations with good surgical and oncological outcomes comparable to national standards. I have been JAG accredited since 2011 and have performed more than 2,500 colonoscopies with a completion rate of more than 96%. I have completed Training the Trainers course in colonoscopy from St Mark’s hospital London and have been accredited by JAG as a trainer.

I have completed my higher surgical training in the East of England (Cambridge) region and was awarded certificate of completion of training (CCT) in September 2010 working in various specialties of surgery and certified specialist training in colorectal surgery. Since finishing my training, I have done fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and have been appointed in the NHS as a consultant since 2011. I have shown to be efficient, confident and safe dealing with both elective and emergency work.

During my previous consultant jobs at The Royal Marsden, St Mark’s and Hinchingbrooke hospitals, I followed the enhanced recovery programme, performed new procedures like TEO/TEMS, HALO and have been performing laparoscopic and open surgery for primary and advanced colorectal cancers, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and Pouch surgery. At The Royal Marsden London, I have had invaluable experience of being involved in pelvic exenterative surgery and re-do colonic resections for cancer. I have now moved to West Hertfordshire hospitals NHS Trust since May 2016 for wider experience and to accept new challenges.
