Personal Profile

I am married with four children, the last born in 1989 when the oldest was four. I have a passion for fast cars and participating in sport, although usually at bottom team level! Having recently retired from playing rugby (although I have played front row with both sons on the same team), cricket and golf (member Mid Herts GC). One daughter played lacrosse for England having retired from synchronised swimming for Great Britain, the other was the Hertfordshire synchronized swimming champion. My eldest three children are now in the army, both sons officers in the infantry and daughter an officer in the Royal Artillery.

I enjoy mountaineering (rock climbing, ice climbing and ski touring) and try to spend my holidays in the French Alps with my family. I have recently become interested in sailing, gaining the Yachtmaster offshore certificate.
