The event will cover several topics related to Colorectal Surgery in primary care: 

  1. The bottom line: fissures, fistulae, haemorrhoids and what's new in rectal cancer, by Mr Day
  2. The NICE guidance for two-week rule referral & The Direct-Access Rectal Bleeding Service at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, by Mr Grabham

The talks are based around these learning objectives:

  • Improve your knowledge of proctology and the management options for a variety of anal conditions
  • Bowel cancer screening
  • Understand the new treatment options for rectal cancer
  • Consideration of the latest NICE guidance when referring patients with suspected colorectal cancer
  • Referral advice regarding patients with ano-rectal symptoms

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

  • 7.00pm: Registration, hot buffet and drinks
  • 7.25pm: Welcome address
  • 7.30pm: Talks to commence with Mr Day - Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, and Mr Grabham - Consultant Colorectal Surgeon
