Professional profile

Mr McLauchlan graduated from Manchester University but did his higher orthopaedic training in Edinburgh. In 2000 he was the Arthroplasty Fellow in Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, Adelaide, South Australia. He has since won two travelling fellowships - the Edinburgh Travelling Fellow (2001) and the Zimmer Research Travelling Fellow (2002).

Mr McLauchlan has particular interests in primary and revision hip and knee surgery including minimally invasive total hip replacement but his practice includes the whole gamut of lower limb orthopaedic surgery. He has been the Clinical Governance and Audit Lead, as well as Clinical Director for Orthopaedics at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. The quality of Mr McLauchlan's contribution has seen him awarded Four Clinical Excellence points.

Personal Profile

Mr McLauchlan has a wife and three sons and plays golf and squash when he can. He took up skiiing relatively late and is still intact so far! He provides medical cover for Preston Grasshoppers and is Vice Chairman of Preston Swimming Club.
