I provide a comprehensive service in general adult ophthalmology, including cataract extraction. I do not see paediatric patients privately.
I was appointed as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline in 2020. I specialise in adult small incision cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and lead the paediatric ophthalmology service in NHS Fife.
I graduated in medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 2010 and won a competitive scholarship to undertake an Erasmus programme at the prestigious University of Leiden, Netherlands. I undertook medical and surgical training in London (University College London Hospital) and Edinburgh (Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion) prior to taking up a consultant post in NHS Fife.
I have published in peer reviewed journals including Eye (Royal College of Ophthalmologists) and have authored chapters in ophthalmology textbooks including “Fundamentals in Ophthalmic Practice”.
I have a keen interest in teaching and have been an honorary lecturer in the University of St Andrews since 2020.
