Breast screening and surgery

Spire Dunedin Hospital provides comprehensive breast care for both benign and malignant conditions providing advice, support and treatment for women who are concerned about a lump, pain or changes to their breast as well as family history screening and a screening service for other patients at high risk of developing breast cancer.

In addition, we provide advice and reconstructive, corrective and cosmetic breast surgery for women who are unhappy with the shape and/or size of their breasts.

Supported by specialist breast care nurse Nicola Davie, the team provides the highest standard of care and support from initial consultation to diagnosis and treatments, which include a full range of surgery for benign breast disease and breast cancer including breast reconstruction.

We also offer comprehensive support programmes both pre and post diagnosis including a well-established breast support group.

Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Mr Brendan Smith also provides aesthetic breast surgery as a consultant for the Berkshire Cosmetic Suite.
