I am a Consultant Neurologist practicing at the Spire Dunedin Hospital, The Royal Berkshire Hospital and Oxford University Hospitals. I am also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Neurology at Oxford University.
I diagnose and treat patients with all neurological problems, having particular expertise in migraine and headache disorders, epilepsy and neurogenetics. I see patients with all general neurological problems, having a special interest in epilepsy, headache and cognitive problems.
I have been a Consultant Neurologist in Reading and Oxford since 2011. As well as managing patients with all general neurological problems I lead the epilepsy service in Reading and treat many patients with headache disorders with treatments including nerve blocks and botulinum toxin. I run the regional Huntington’s disease service in the Thames Valley and I am active in the European Huntington’s Disease Network.
I graduated from Cambridge University in pre-clinical medical sciences and neuroscience and went onto complete a PhD researching treatments for Parkinson’s and Huntington’s Disease, resulting in over a dozen publications. I have been the author of over 40 publications. I completed my medical training in Oxford where I graduated top of the year. I undertook general professional training in London and Australia where I completed neurology training. I have been a university clinical lecturer in neurology at Oxford University, with periods at the National Hospital for Neurology at Queen Square.
I remain active in research with interests and collaborations in the Universities of Oxford and Reading and I participate in International clinical trials as a principal investigator. I also maintain an interest in medical education and ran and updated the undergraduate neurology course at Oxford University.
