Dr Nicos Spyrou
BSc, MB BS, MD, FRCP
I am a graduate of St George’s Medical School, University of London. My training in cardiology was at St Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals, London. My MD research thesis was on the remodelling of the heart following myocardial infarction, undertaken at the MRC unit at the Hammersmith Hospital.
I am experienced in all aspects of cardiology (ischaemic heart disease, valve disease and arrhythmias), and have a special interest in coronary intervention and angioplasty. I was instrumental in setting up the angioplasty service in Reading and recently introduced Rotablation (rotational atherectomy) to Reading for the treatment of complex coronary artery disease. I perform angioplasty at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Dunedin Hospital.
