Our physiotherapists place a high priority on the assessment and diagnosis of your condition, and take the time to understand your situation at home and at work. Our physiotherapists work closely with consultants and GPs to ensure that you receive the best treatment and advice in order to help you return to normal fitness as soon as possible. Should your condition require further treatment the physiotherapy department can easily refer you for a scan or to a consultant.

Structured exercise programmes and classes
- Manual therapy - This includes joint mobilising, myofascial release techniques and manipulation. Our chartered physiotherapists will undertake a full assessment to ascertain where specific joint restrictions lie and direct appropriate treatment to ensure you can move as smoothly and painlessly as possible.
- Rehabilitation - Gym based exercise programmes are available. You will benefit from the advice and attention of a specialist physiotherapist, allowing progression of recovery aiming to return you to your level of fitness.
- Acupuncture - Acupuncture has its roots in Traditional Chinese medicine and it has been shown to have a significant effect on the physiology of the brain causing a decrease in pain and an improved sense of well being. All of our chartered physiotherapists are members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, a body which sets the highest standards for safety and continuing education in acupuncture.
- Pilates - These courses are held locally at Oak Park Golf Club and are run by experienced physiotherapists who are also qualified Pilates instructors. There are a range of classes that will be tailored to your individual ability and needs. The beginner classes benefit from having two instructors in attendance to ensure good and safe techniques. Individual treatment is also available.

Physio appointments are available by contacting the department directly or by referral through your GP or consultant.
GP referral is encouraged but not essential. You may simply call the physiotherapy department at Spire Clare Park Hospital on 01252 895 426 and we will arrange a clinical assessment for you. However, if you are claiming on your insurance, a GP referral is usually required.
Our services is open to all so if you are not insured then please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with a cost for treatment.
We work with all major medical insurance providers and most schemes now include physiotherapy as part of an outpatient allowance. However please check with your insurer.
When calling to make a physiotherapy appointment, please make sure you have the following information available:
- GP's name and address
- Payment details
- Insurance company name, scheme name and policy number
Please allow one hour for your first appointment. A detailed history will be taken followed by a thorough assessment of your condition.
You will receive expert advice and treatment and will be given a personal recovery programme tailored to your individual needs. We will advise you on what you need to do to achieve your treatment goals and further treatments will be planned.
As well as manual therapy and acupuncture sessions our physiotherapists offer a range of structured group exercise programmes and classes aimed to support you in you recovery.
