Learning about the procedures
Weight loss surgery helps to reduce the amount of food that can be eaten at one time, and some weight loss procedures also change the digestive system so that fewer calories are absorbed from the food you eat. This makes it likely that you end up with a shortage of calories compared to what is needed as fuel for day-to-day activity.
To compensate for this deficit, the body begins to use stores of fat that have built up over the years as a source of energy. As this fat is used up, your weight begins to fall.
Book your place
The event is free but places are limited. To reserve your place please call 01252 895 490 or submit an enquiry form.
Please note, our 'meet the surgeon'/mini consultation events are an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about weight loss surgery and are not a formal outpatient consultation.
If you wish to proceed to surgery, a full outpatient consultation will usually be required which does incur a fee.
