Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Shaun Preston at Spire include:
I am a lead clinician for the regional oesophago-gastric unit based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, a position I have held since September 2006. Prior to this I was a Consultant Surgeon on the internationally renowned Northern Oesophago-Gastric Unit, Newcastle upon Tyne, where I had worked since March 2000. I was the gold medal and prize winner in the intercollegiate FRCS(Gen) examination in 2000 and was the British Council Fellow at the National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo in 2001.
I am a laparoscopic surgeon who specialises in the management of diseases of the oesophagus and stomach with particular interests in radical surgery for cancer. I regularly teach and train surgeons to perform laparoscopic hernia repair, cholecystectomy & cholangiography (imaging the bile duct) and oesophago-gastric cancer surgery on courses at the MATTU Guildford. I also lecture and demonstrate surgical techniques at international meetings on a regular basis.
