All of our GP educational events are free to attend and we aim to make talks informative and useful to you in your practice. Specialist consultants present on new evidence or treatments, indicators for referral and the management of patients in primary care. We actively plan a full calendar of educational events throughout the year and contact practices with event updates via email.

Thursday 3 May 2018 - GP workshop at Mere Golf Resort and Spa

Each lecture will be short - lasting approximately 15 minutes each, giving a simple take-home message.

Rotating seminar style workshops will allow you to hear all four presentations.
Each workshop will last 30 minutes. Places are limited as each workshop will be a
small group allowing for more interaction and discussion with the consultants.

  • Current trends in skin conditions presenting to the private sector

  • To identify growing /current and future needs for skin disease in the North West

Mr Martin Brett, Consultant General and Gastro-Intestinal Surgeon‘Recovery from common surgical procedures such as hernia repair and cholecystectomy’

Discussion points:

  • What is a “normal recovery”? 

  • What complications may occur and when should we be concerned? 

  • Is there evidence to support any specific advice to optimise recovery? 

  • What can we do to improve practice in the future?

  • To understand the patholophysiology of limb ischaemia

  • To learn how to manage the limb ischaemia

Lunch and learn

 GP educational lunch and learn events

We also offer a lunch and learn service for our local GP practices. One of our consultants will come to your practice to provide an educational talk on a specialty or treatment of your choice.
