Consultant General Surgeon
MA, MCh, FRCS
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Barry Taylor at Spire include:
General surgery: thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, pancreatology, pancreatic and biliary surgery, minimal access surgery, endocrine surgery, hernia repair surgery, laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, endoscopy, coloproctology, colonoscopy and colorectal surgery.
I am a fully trained general surgeon, who spent twelve months in full time colorectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in the USA in 1986 and twelve months in endocrine surgery in Cardiff in 1988. My current clinical practice revolves around colorectal surgery (main interest in the management of colorectal cancer) and the management of inflammatory bowel disease (particularly pouch surgery in colitis). I have a major commitment to endoscopy, with a significant practice in parathyroid exploration.
